Our policy
We have always brought the latest technology to our services, leveraging solar and battery power to minimise environmental impact. But we also understand the criticality of an uninterrupted supply for major events – and the lowest-risk approach to delivering continuous electrical power is still through diesel generators. So we work on both fronts: use less, and account for the rest.
We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations, both on site and within our administrative processes. Championed by our in-house Green Team, our people actively research and develop energy-efficient technologies available in the market that can be integrated into event environments, helping to reduce overall energy consumption and the carbon footprint of each project.
We also minimise our footprint through 80% paperless project and OHS systems, accessible to staff via smart devices – and we work with clients to advance carbon-reduction initiatives, one of our seven strategic objectives as a business.

EcoPowrX by EVENTelec
EcoPowrX is the first service of its kind for major Australian events, letting you offset the carbon emissions of the power supply for your next event by making a climate contribution through high-quality carbon credits, based on the total amount of diesel consumed.
We manage the process end to end. Credits are sourced from approved Australian and global projects through our partner Carbon Neutral, a leading climate project developer, and we identify the carbon sequestration projects your contribution supports – all aligned with current carbon credit accounting standards and audits.
During the quotation process we provide a pre-event estimated total cost for the carbon contribution, so it sits in your budget from the start rather than arriving as a surprise.
We calculate the total emissions from electricity generation using the Australian Government’s latest National Greenhouse Accounts Factors, aligned with international best practice – so you pay only for the precise amount you need.
You receive a comprehensive statement outlining total emissions created and the total contribution made, together with the projects it supports.
Not buying your power from us?
EcoPowrX is available even if you secure your power supply through an alternate provider. We will apply the calculation methods and work with them to help you deliver a more sustainable event or festival.

In practice
Offsetting is the last step, not the first. The cheapest tonne of carbon is the one a well-designed system never produces – and disciplined site management is usually worth more than the equipment itself.

1997 – 2024
A 660-acre site, four stages, 170 portable buildings and a campground. In 2018 a system redesign cut electrical costs 10% with no added supply risk - and we are now introducing more solar and battery options into the overlay.
2025 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, Penrith
Simple, strategic efficiency measures – shutting down non-essential generators overnight and optimising air conditioning schedules – dropped fuel use from an estimated 17,000 litres to just 7,000.
A remarkable reduction achieved through intelligent management and disciplined execution rather than new hardware, across twelve events with 230 athletes from 41 nations competing.
